Behind an Open Thesis

for transparency's sake

To start of, a list of intentions.

This is all relatively new to me.

I have dabbled in blogging before but merely at an experimental level, in a way to see what “all the fuzz was about”. It was also done as a mere form of self expression to occupy some free time. This is my first attempt at producing “serious” (although I hardly think this will be an absolute, without it’s exceptions) content on a blog.

My main motivation with the creation of this space is to serve as a personal journal of sorts where I can log in advancements in my personal process for the upcoming project I have set out to tackle (and eventually, during it).

I plan to ask for the collaboration of people/crowd/(you?) (I have no idea who, exactly) in the development of my master thesis. Basically, opening it up in an “open source” or “crowdsourcing” style (the internal debate over which term is more adequate is still raging as I educate myself more on the distinctions between the two).

I plan to make my thesis about about how the philosophy of open source/crowdsourcing can be benefitial for innovation within a city. I’ll elaborate more later. Hopefully with some initial suggestions.
